June 8th - (9 weeks) - Final
puppy evaluation! Three puppies went to their new homes today - mantle
boy (Pax), merle girl (Gracie) and merlequin girl (Greta). I couldn't
be more pleased with their wonderful new homes! The harl girl and
mantle J will head off to their new homes later this week. We are
keeping the full collar mantle girl (Kizzy).
More updates coming soon! I will also be adding additional
pictures to their photo gallary as a I have a chance to get through
the many pictures I've taken in the past 9 weeks.
June 4th - (8 1/2 weeks) - Three puppies were cropped
today (2 mantle girls & harl girl).
May 31st - (almost 8 weeks) - Puppies attended my
kennel club's "fun match". Lots of socialization today!
Pictures
May 30th -
(7 1/2 weeks) - I gave the puppies a
raw chicken
leg to "play with", only to
discover that they all devored them. WOW!
May 29th -
(7 1/2 weeks) - Jail break!
Always
make sure to shut the door to the puppy pen, that is the lesson learned
today! We neglected to latch the door to their crate and after dinner,
we came downstairs to find the puppies having the time of their lives,
all over the basement. Only a few pee spots to clean up, so nothing
too serious. :)
May 28th -
(7 1/2 weeks) - Puppies took an hour
car ride (very noisy first 10 minutes!) to get their first parvo/distemper
shot and microchipped. Before going into the vet, each pup was taken
over to the grass and everyone went potty. They are all doing great
on potty training.
May 19th - (just over 6 weeks) - First collar! Puppies
tried on their first collars, to get used to wearing something around
their necks. Lots of chewing and scratching going on!
May 17th - (almost 6 weeks) - Puppies had their
first meaty bone - lamb ribs. They didn't get much meat off, but they
thoroughly enjoyed playing with them! Skyy then enjoyed cleaning up
after the puppies. For the not-too-squeamish,
here
are some pics.
May 13th - Puppies are growing and learning every day! The
rapid changes are amazing. They are great eaters - so far they've
had tripe, beef, chicken, rabbit, duck, turkey, fish and more. No
longer softening their food with goat's milk.
May 5th -
(29 days old) - 3 puppies went to kindergarten
for show-n-tell! They were a hit!
May 4th - (4 weeks old) - Now eating three meals
of real food a day (still softened with goat's milk).
May 3rd -
(27 days old) - First trip outside - all
the pups enjoyed sniffing the grass and getting a peek at the great
big world. Also moved out of the whelping box, graduated to a drop
pen (large crate with raised floor).
April 27th - (21 days old) This was the first day
I witnessed Skyy correcting the puppies - they get too rough with
those new teeth while nursing and they get a stern correction from
Mommy.
April 26th - (20 days old) - First taste of food
- tripe (
Tripett) soaked in goats'
milk - feeding frenzy! They loved it!
April 25th - (19 days old) - Teeth eruption
- look out world! This was the last day of the Bio Sensor
program.
April 23rd - (17 days old) - Starting to play with
each other
- play growls and mini-barks
.
April 17th -
(11 days old) - Starting to wobble
around on our legs
.
April 16th - (10 days old) - Eyes open
April 9th - (3 days old) - Started the
Bio
Sensor program (Early Neurological Stimulation).
April 8th - (2 days old) - Puppies visited the vet
to have their dewclaws removed
. We lost white girl
today.
April 7th - (1 day old) - Puppies' first vet appointment
- Just a general check to make sure all the pups were alright and
mainly to check on the new mommy
.
April 6th - Skyy started pushing at noon, first puppy arrived
at 12:55 PM (mantle girl); second puppy arrived shortly after that
at 1:06 (merle girl); third puppy arrived at 1:55 (mantle girl J);
fourth puppy arrived at 2:50 (merlequin girl); fifth puppy arrived
at 4:35 (boy); sixth puppy arrived at 4:50 (white girl); Skyy took
a break and the last pup was delivered at 7:40 PM (harlequin girl)
Skyy is a wonderful mommy! She did a great job through labor and delivery
and took right to caring for her new brood.
April 5th 1:30 PM - Skyy's temperature dropped to
98.6 - puppies will be born within 24 hours!
We had a long night - as expected, Skyy was very restless.
